As Senior Vice President of Social at Cashmere Agency, William Petersen oversees the development and execution of all social media efforts for clients; including YouTube, Jack In The Box, FX, Starz, Netflix, Universal, HBO, Turner and more.
Obsessed with culture, creators, and the ways that compelling stories are told through social media, William ensures all campaigns are creatively and quantitatively driven to a socially-connected diverse audience.
Previously he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Operations at theAudience, a social media agency where he was responsible for the company’s strategic approach to leveraging social media, creators, and content to tell compelling brand stories. He has also held roles at Twitter as a Creator Development Lead at Vine, and Head of Content at the social media analytics, start-up, Groupthink.
With an extensive background in social media, marketing, and business development, he has held various marketing, partnerships, content, and creator-focused roles throughout the media, agency, and entertainment landscape.
Throughout his career, he has driven social strategy for a range of brands; including Viacom, Fox, AMC, AEG/Goldenvoice, Live Nation, H&M, Bitcoin Foundation, Ford, Perez Hilton, Nickelodeon, and Supercuts. Petersen received his bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
