Jam packed with impressive musical performances, exclusive screenings and highly respected public speakers, Essence Festival is known for delivering attendees with once in a lifetime experiences. The Cast of ‘Girls Trip’ Attends Special Screening
Cast and filmmakers gathered to enjoy an exclusive screening of what is anticipated to be the biggest comedy of the summer, Universal Pictures’ GIRLS TRIP. The film’s cast and filmmakers including Will Packer, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith were in attendance to walk the red carpet discuss the female-led film, a portion of which takes place at Essence Festival. Celebrities including Issa Rae, Karen Civil, Big Freedia, Miss Lawerence, and Romeo Miller were also there to support the film and it’s themes of female empowerment and the strong bonds of sisterhood.
‘Dear White People’ Gets Second Season
Here at Cashmere Agency, we are big fans of Netflix’s recent series Dear White People, which has made headlines for its genius combination of humor and social commentary. The cast of series, including its star Logan Browning, were present at Essence Festival, where writer and creator Justin Simien announced that the series will be returning to Netflix for a highly anticipated second season.
The #StrengthofaWoman Panel Discussion
Songstress Mary J. Blige was featured on a panel for the Empowerment Expo during #EssenceFest. Blige discussed her divorce and life since then, as well as how to empower women across the globe. Panelists included Queen Latifah, journalist Tamron Hall, Monica Brown, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Niecy Nash.
The Ladies of Claws Were In The House!
Stars of TNT’s new dramedy, Karrueche Tran and Niecy Nash, were at #EssenceFest to support Claws, which will be in its 5th episode this coming Sunday.
Master P and Mystikal Reunite for A No Limit Records Reunion
On the last day of the festival, No Limit Records reunited to perform some of their biggest hits, including “Make ‘Em Say Uhh,” and “Shake Ya A**.”
