Screen Shot 2015-06-29 at 11.09.03 AMFinally got the chance to watch A Genius Leaves the Hood: The Unauthorized Story of Jay Z last weekend. It was very interesting to me because it touched on his deal with Will Sokolov at Moonroof/Freeze Records, which was distributed through Priority Records where I was working at the time. I remember going up to Power 106 (KPWR) one Friday night and was thumbing through some spare records that the DJs had tossed in a throwaway pile and came upon this white label that had "Priority Records" stamped on it. As the Director of Mixshow Promotions, there was not one piece of vinyl that left the building without me knowing about it. I took it home that night and heard "Ain' No N***a" for the first time. I went back to the office the following Monday and strolled into Bryan Turner's office to ask him about the record. Bryan, who was one of the owners/founders of Priority Records, was sort of taken aback since I rarely approached him for anything. He explained that we had a distribution deal with Sokolov. I told him that we need to jump on top of this immediately as it is a HIT! I can continue to elaborate on this story, but I'll save it for another time and forum. –Kelly (Twitter|Instagram)

image1 (25)After wishing every year that I could go, I finally went to the PHAMExpo (Professional Hair and Makeup Expo). Although I probably have enough makeup to last me for years, I couldn't help but take advantage of some of the great discounts they had there and picked up a few items. But more than anything, it was just fun to people-watch and spend some "girl time" with my friends. :) –Theresa (Twitter|Instagram)

https://vine.co/v/eJwPUVbaqiQWhatever happened this weekend is completely inconsequential because Bad Boy was out there together on stage at the BET Awards. On top of that, Puff fell off the stage and it was hilarious. Watch this, and watch it 20 times over again. Jake (Twitter | Instagram)
