Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap5-6-2013[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CzoSeClcw0&w=700&h=394]I love movie trailers. But the problem is that oftentimes the trailer gives away the entire movie. This wasn't the case with Iron Man 3. Honestly, I wasn't super excited to see this summer's first blockbuster but was pleasantly surprised by a major plot twist that made the movie. No spoiler alert needed here. Go see Iron Man 3 for yourself. –Ryan (Twitter|Instagram)PhotoGrid_1367867557650

Spent an incredible weekend with my family for my cousin's wedding up in San Francisco. The weather was amazing as was the food! –Kelly (Twitter|Instagram)cinco de mayoI guess it was only fitting to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some amazing Mexican food at Cabo Cantina in Santa Monica. Steak Nachos, Surf n Turf Tacos, and Chicken Sunset Rolls, accompanied by some margaritas, and I was full for the rest of the day. –Kyle (Twitter|Instagram)photoMy weekend was filled with love, laughter, and celebrations. I was a part of my best friend @JennGama's bridal shower; celebrated a mother-to-be @Moira_anjolie over good food; and closed out the weekend with a feel-good Cinco De Mayo party DJed by one of my favorites, @djseang. –Annie (Twitter|Instagram)Fotor0506162739This past weekend was packed with music, food and friends. On Friday night, I went to see Future perform at Complex Magazine's party at Sonos Studios. On Saturday, I cooked up a storm for friends and on Sunday, I finished the weekend off at "Fela!" at the Ahmanson Theatre in DTLA. This wonderful musical tells the beautiful story and struggle of Fela Kuti: Nigerian musician, human rights activist, and composer. #AfroBeats –Brianne (Twitter|Instagram)PhotoGrid_May 6, 2013, 12_27 PMThis weekend was full of "first times!" It was my first time visiting my best friend in Tyler, Texas. It was my first time chopping wood with an axe:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAbWWXKqF_c&w=700&h=525]It was my first time seeing a cardinal and woodpecker in real life.  First time drinking the South's infamous Sweet Tea.  First time eating Waffle House (which really isn't good) and the first time visiting the world's largest flea market in Canton, Texas called First Mondays.  To put the cherry on top, I got to spend the weekend at a beautiful lake house relaxing and doing absolutely nothing but soaking up the gorgeous scenery.I never thought Texas would be so adventurous and exciting, but at the same time so relaxing. Clearly I was wrong!!! –Kristen (Twitter|Instagram)photo-1I celebrated Cinco de Mayo the right way: tequila, tacos and sombreros!photo-2Mani (my sister's dog) couldn't help himself. –Hila (Twitter|Instagram)ImageThis weekend was quite eventful.
  • I introduced my colleagues Candice and Bree, to Boston Market. Mmm hmm good!
  • I co-hosted the "Faces of Diabetes" stage at the American Diabetes Association's Expo at LA Convention Center. It was a lot of fun — networking with different minority groups, introducing the speakers and entertainment, as well as coordinating giveaways.
  • I received a facial, experiencing microdermabrasion (non-surgical exfoliating treatment) for the first time
  • I enjoyed a manicure
  • I watched my Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets in NY. Yes!! We're off to the next round in the playoffs.
