Weekend Recap 7 15 2013This weekend, Cashmere enjoyed the beach, caught some live music at Lightning In a Bottle fest and The Lot Party, went sneaker hunting, sampled local food and drink, and more! Check it out.CD400_outeliotweekendupdate1This weekend, I was with the band Kid Karate, kicking off their first US tour at The Lot Party in Hollywood. I've been designing and photo editing for them for a few months, so it has been great finally being able to meet them in person. Their Lights Out EP comes out on July 23rd and you can check out some previews of their music here. –Eliot (Twitter|Instagram)Screen Shot 2013-07-15 at 2.43.51 PMFinally got the DJ rig back together. #CraveNBlend mixes coming soon! –JP (Twitter|Instagram)TheWestWing-72521I developed a severe addiction to The West Wing last Monday which reached its nadir this weekend. I finished the third season and I am almost halfway through season 4. I also stopped by Frolic Room on Saturday night in between episodes... –Gabil (Twitter|Instagram)LIB kyle picThis weekend, I attended one of my favorite music festivals of the year, Lightning in a Bottle. Held at a new location, Lake Skinner outside of Temecula, this festival is much different then your typical musical gathering. Focused on sustainability and healthy living, the show incorporates many aspects of life alongside the music. The people and the vibes are what make it a great experience, and I met some amazing people. The music portion was also great, with some of my favorite DJ's performing on various stages throughout the festival grounds. –Kyle (Twitter|Instagram)jordan4So I woke up on Saturday morning and totally forgot about the Jordan Toro Bravo IVs release. In an act of desperation, I hopped in my car and went to a couple of stores in the neighborhood but to no avail. I really miss the days of being able to buy shoes without all the hype... –Kelly (Twitter|Instagram)photo 1After a week-long work trip in New York, I was so glad to get home and try a local Italian restaurant in my hood called Italy's Little Kitchen in Westchester. It's got that small family-owned vibe with the most amazing pasta dishes and wine selections.photo 2 (1)I ended the weekend relaxing at the beach and frolicking in the water! –Kristen (Twitter|Instagram)photoThis weekend I had a relaxing time with my family and close friends. Saturday I got up early to do some morning yoga and then hung out and had lunch by the pool. It was a great way to enjoy the summer sun! –Emily (Twitter|Instagram)photoI tried the world famous "rainbows" adult beverage from Aloha Grill in Huntington Beach this weekend. It was delicious! –Annie (Twitter|Instagram)photo (5)My friend Anne and I tentatively decided on visiting the LACMA but had a change of heart and sprinted down to The Grove instead. Go now and relish the giant pinwheel installation. –Qing Qing (Twitter|Instagram)Image-1I attended a screening for Fruitvale Station, a movie written and directed by our "No Guns Allowed" panelist, 26-year-old Ryan Coogler. This movie is so timely as its based on the fatal shooting of Oscar Grant by a BART police officer and opened this past weekend in theaters... simultaneously with the George Zimmerman trial. It's a must-see film! Other than that, I enjoyed lunch with a former intern of mine at a new place (for me), Griddle Cafe in Hollywood. And enjoyed a great mani and pedi while in the area!! Lastly, I ended my weekend by following the George Zimmerman trial coverage and subsequent protests especially the one shutting down the 10 Freeway in LA. All the peace rallies inspired me to wear a black hoodie to work Monday. We must continue to speak out about gun violence... #NoGunsAllowed. –Misty (Twitter|Instagram)
