Snoopzilla and Dam Funk Join Forces for 7 Days of Funk

When I first saw Dam Funk perform five years ago at the Echoplex I knew he was something special. Freshly signed to one of my favorite labels, Stones Throw Records, Dam took the stage with his keytar in hand and talkbox off to the side -- from the moment he played his first note, a light bulb went off in my head and I turned to my group of friends and said, "He HAS to do something with Snoop!"faden-awayFast forward five years...my dreams have been met! Ladies and gentlemen, I'm excited to announce that Dam Funk and Snoop are coming together for one of the greatest projects of 2013 called 7 Days of Funk (which also serves as their group name). Releasing December 10th via Stones Throw Records, 7 Days of Funk is a result of two artists bonding over their love for Funk music, where Snoop Dogg will perform under a new moniker, Snoopzilla (an homage to Bootsy Collins who often performed under "Bootzilla").Yesterday, the duo released the first official single called "Faden Away" -- If you're curious to hear what the album will sound like, this song will give you a great idea![soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/114421587" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Also, to get more of a background story on the project, head over to Pitchfork.com to read the exclusive Snoopzilla and Dam Funk interview.SnoopandDam
