Muhammad Ali Was A Champion
Muhammad Ali died today at the age of 74. Born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky he was a champion of his sport, humanity, and civil rights. Ali was as impactful as any athlete has ever been in this country, at a time when this country needed it most. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wrote, "I never felt taller than when standing in Muhammad Ali's shadow" which is certainly a big statement considering Abdul-Jabbar is 7'2".There are plenty of brilliant writers out there writing pieces on what he meant as an athlete and civil rights leader. I'll leave you with a message from Ali himself on how he wanted to be remembered.
