LeBron James Creates Scholarship To Send 1,000 Kids To College
LeBron James has always been very present within his home state of Ohio on the court as well as off the court. The Decision, the moment that caused him the most scrutiny throughout his career, raised $3 Million for charity. And now the LeBron James Family Foundation has partnered with The University of Akron to further help kids in the Akron area.James and Akron have created a scholarship that will send 1,100 kids to the university on a full scholarship through the new "I Promise" program. Speaking on the importance of the community, James said:
It’s the reason I do what I do. These students have big dreams, and I’m happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They’re going to have to earn it, but I’m excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures.
The terms of the scholarship are still being finalized, but it will definitely integrate the Akron public school system and attain a certain standard of test scores.
