Jon Stewart Headed to HBO

Jon Stewart, the former Daily Show host, signed a four-year production deal with HBO to create short-form digital content, which will be showcased on HBO Now, HBO Go and other platforms. Also included in the pact is a first-look option for other film and TV ventures. Forrester analyst, Jim Nail weighed in on what it might tell us about HBO in the cord-cutting television economy.

We're seeing across the board, from Amazon and Hulu, more original productions for digital distribution. It's all part of this bigger trend of where consumers are going these days to get the kind of video entertainment they want. It's obviously not all prime-time traditional network shows.
