Is Hollywood truly keeping up with the growth in diversity across the world?

A recent story from The Hollywood Reporter highlights the glaring holes that Hollywood still faces when it comes to proper Latinx representation. According to THR, while the Latinx community represents the largest demo of moviegoers in the U.S., they are still heavily underrepresented in films.

According to the story, Latinx audiences made up the highest annual attendance per capita, ahead of white audiences, going to the cinema an average of 4.7 times that year. Yet Latinx characters made up only 5.2 percent of the speaking film roles.
