iHeartRadio Music Awards - A Hub for Social Content
Cashmere Agency spent this past Sunday at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Ed Sheeran hinted at a possible upcoming collaboration with Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars took home the coveted iHeartRadio Innovator Award, and Noah Cyrus proved that her older sister isn't the only one in the family with musical talents. Perhaps one of the biggest moments of the night was not only when Justin Timberlake was announced as the winner for "Best Song" for 'Can't Stop the Feeling,' but his acceptance speech - which served as an inspiring message about inclusion and diversity that had the entire venue applauding.
Before the winners were announced later in the evening, the red carpet had media and viewers buzzing in anticipation. The celebrity studded red carpet not only boasted the biggest names in music, but there was a special "Social Hotspot," serving as a social media hub for exclusive content. The Social Hotspot enabled audiences who were tuning in to have access to additional content, in real time, from the event. Social influencers Karen Civil and Christina Milian were the co-hosts of the Social Hotspot, and interviewed A-list guests including The Chainsmokers, Joe Jonas, Kerruche Tran, and Jason Derulo.
Photography extraordinaire Gunner Stahl was also present on the carpet, utilizing his unique style of shooting to capture images of guests. This section of the red carpet, dedicated solely to social content, underscored how red carpets and events are continuing to rely more and more on social integration and livestreaming to further connect with audiences.
