Fiat Chrysler Issuing Recall After Jeep Hack

With the Jeep Cherokee having an internet-connected entertainment system, it has left the vehicle vulnerable to hackers. Over 1.4 million vehicles are being recalled after the incident. The weakness in the technology allowed hackers to remotely control certain vehicles.Taking advantage of the flaw is a criminal act, and requires vast amounts of technical knowledge and access to a test vehicle to be able to write and test different codes. The flaw is listed as only affecting the vehicles sold in the United States, due to the addition of the uConnect system, while no vehicles in the UK were affected. Separate tests were done on UK vehicles though and they were able to be hacked as well. Read more here.
