Last night, A&E hosted an exclusive screening of the new documentary LA Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later. The powerful film, directed by co-directors One9 and Erik G. Parker, was shown to a packed house in USC’s Norris Theater. After the screening, USC Gould School of Law Professor moderated a panel discussion with the filmmakers and film participants. The 10 person panel engaged in conversation around the film, with each person involved stating their take on the cultural relevance of the piece to today’s society.

“What’s interesting about this piece, the fact that everyone can now be a documentarian, we can now all figure out the truth.” – John SingletonImage4

“The riots happen when people are not represented by the system, or by justice.” – Dir. Erik G Parker

Some of our West Coast Influencers also attended the event and heavily engaged in conversation around #LABurning.
