Had a busy weekend with my friends from college as we had a mini reunion for our friend’s wedding. We had the wedding on Saturday night at the Park Plaza Hotel, we went to brunch at The Churchill on Sunday, and then went to see Jamie xx live at The Shrine last night. –Kyle (Twitter|Instagram)
Spent 10 days in Hong Kong and ate like the city was going to run out of food. Out of everything I had, fresh mango mochi made the top of my list and is now a “must-have” recommendation. –Kelly (Twitter|Instagram)
It was so hott this weekend to really do anything. I went to go eat at my favorite Korean BBQ spot, Parks BBQ and chilled on some brews at Angel City Brewery. Spent my Sunday watching football all day and checking my FanDuel lineup consistently. Shoutout to Martellus Bennett for not catching that TD in the 4th quarter… could’ve helped me ya know?! –Michelle (Instagram)
I went to the Back to Basics festival on Saturday to catch the Visionaries, Hieroglyphics, Brother Ali, Jedi Mind Tricks, and many other Hip Hop legends live at the Santa Ana Observatory. There are not many Underground Hip Hop shows with a solid line-up like that anymore, so I had to make sure to be there. I was glad to see that it was totally packed and there are still lots of people who appreciate Hip Hop for what it used to be. –Theresa (Twitter|Instagram)
We attended the opening night of the Giant Robot Biennale at the Japanese American National Museum. It was wellspring of inspiration and I recommend everyone check it out!
Due to the unusually hot and humid nighttime weather in Southern California, the Westside of LA suffered a few blackouts on Friday and Saturday night. That meant no air conditioning, no Wifi and no Satellite TV. But many cord cutters felt right at home. Shifting to mobile data service, an iPad and a Bluetooth speaker meant watching Saturday night football took place on the patio. First world problems. El Niño is up next…–Ryan (Twitter|Instagram)
