Last Thursday night, Adidas Originals hosted their Unite LA event at SCS Warehouse, a large, stripped down venue downtown with gritty aesthetics, graffiti walls and and a great view of the stage from all points. Cashmere was there to check out the talent and grab some complimentary VIP almonds (seriously, those thyme-roasted Marconas were nuts! Sorry we’re not sorry.)
The Unite LA event was part of Adidas Originals’ “Unite All Originals” national campaign. Most attendees had to participate in a Twitter RSVP in order to gain access to the show’s secret time and location. Shout out to VP of Creative Strategy, Ryan, for getting us safely into the event!
Snoop Lion née Snoop Dogg hosted the event, riling up the crowd for sets from MPC monster AraabMuzik and the headliner of the night, G.O.O.D.’s Big Sean.
AraabMuzik killed his set and the audience was totally awed at how fast his hands were going on the drum machine. Definitely an amazing live performance — everyone should see AraabMuzik do his thing at one point. It’s like he’s in a different dimension with his intense focus!
Big Sean encouraged his fans to follow their dreams and led them in a humorous, semi-explicit chant against haters.
The Detroit rapper performed his best hits to the crowd, including recent hit “Guap” and the career-defining verse he laid on “Mercy.” The crowd wished Big Sean an early Happy Birthday, and the show culminated in his crowdsurf to one of G.O.O.D. music’s biggest hits, “Clique.”
The best part of the night was watching Snoop and special guest Kurupt freestyle to AraabMuzik’s live beats in a spontaneous collaboration. Adidas definitely put on a memorable event!
We even made it to the OG LA scenester photo mecca. As Big Sean would say, “Oh God.”
