This year is going to be nothing short of extraordinary as our famed West Coast music showcase, Respect The West (RTW), returns to its birthplace, the legendary South by Southwest Music Festival. Founded in 2010, Respect The West pays homage to old school West Coast hip-hop, while pushing a new generation of West Coast artists into the center of hip-hop.
This SXSW, we are putting on two different Respect The West events…The first being, Snoop Dogg Presents Respect The West Producer Showcase, which is the first RTW to showcase all producers. Hosted by Airbnb from 2-4pm at The Airbnb Park (1501 6th Street in Austin) on March 11th, the West Coast’s hottest producers will showcase their most notable songs, as well as never-heard-before beats for an intimate crowd, including Stone Throw’s modern funk king Dam-Funk, DJ Babu from renowned hip-hop group Dilated Peoples, Tha Dogg Pound rapper and producer Daz Dillinger and Warner Bros. Records producer Scoop DeVille, with moderation by Los Angeles personality Fuzzy Fantabulous.
